Hybrid underwater network (wired/wireless) enabling secure multimodal cross-domain communications.
The TARAS project focuses on the study and development of an underwater network infrastructure, taking into account cybersecurity requirements by design. The goal is to design and develop a hybrid underwater network infrastructure (wired and wireless), with multimodal wireless transmission capabilities (optical and acoustic), enabling a cross-domain communication system (marine and terrestrial). Nodes, sensors and unmanned underwater vehicles will be designed to allow data exchange through a reliable hybrid network with a Command and Control (C2) center and support military purposes such as Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) and Critical Underwater Infrastructures (CUI), as well as civilian purposes.
